Alison Kirk

Special interest working with communities using co-production and co-design approaches to design and develop services that improve health and wellbeing.

Experience:  Alison is a specialist in the field of Patient and Public Involvement solutions and using innovative and creative approaches to deliver high quality engagement. She has led a number of large consultation programmes. During her time with the NHS Institute for Innovation, Alison set up the Patient Experience Network, a community of patient experience practice with over 400 members from across the NHS as well national and international members.

Key Projects Alison supports a range of CCGs in the development and implementation of strategic approaches to engagement and using patient experience insight for improvement. This work has included development of a patient leadership programme with the Kings Fund, utilising patient experience insight in commissioning processes, setting up a Community Partners Framework and building capacity and capability with voluntary and community organisations through the delivery of engagement programmes. Alison is currently working with West London CCG leading on engagement as part of the North Kensington Recovery Programme in response to the fire at Grenfell Tower in June 2017.

Qualifications Post Graduate Diploma in NHS Leadership from Birmingham University. Aston Team Assessment Facilitator from Aston OD. Certification of Continued Professional Development Consultation Institute (Patient and Public involvement and consultation).
